WSSU’s Tierra Terry named WBCA Coach of the Year finalist

ATLANTA – The Winston-Salem State University Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Tierra Terry was named a finalist for Coach of the Year, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced today.

In her first season at her alma mater, Coach Terry led the Rams to their best season, guiding WSSU to a record-setting campaign that included over 20 wins, a No. 1 seed in the CIAA Tournament, and conference championship success. Her efforts earned her CIAA Coach of the Year honors, highlighting one of the most impactful debut seasons in program history.

Under her leadership thus far, the Rams made it to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament, had two student-athletes named to the CIAA All-Rookie Team, as well as CIAA Rookie of the Year, and three named to the CIAA All-Second Team.

Mike Williams of Grand Valley State University was named the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Coach of the Year.

Player of the Year

Natalie Bremer of Minnesota State University Moorhead is the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Player of the Year. She headlines the 2026 WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches’ All-America team.
